Senior Data Engineer
Job description
We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join a global software technology company specialising in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes. You'll be working on innovative solutions for industries like banking, insurance, government, and healthcare.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain efficient, scalable data processing systems in production.
Work with tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Elasticsearch, deploying on private and public clouds (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
Collaborate with solution architects and R&D teams to solve complex big data challenges.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Manage large datasets to address business problems in fraud detection, risk management and customer intelligence.
Requirements
More than 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or similar roles.
Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Scala (Scala knowledge is a plus, but we value flexibility and a willingness to learn).
Experience in developing and managing large-scale batch data processing systems.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker and Bash scripting.
Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to clients.
Experience with testing libraries such as ScalaTest or similar.
Nice to Have
Experience mentoring junior engineers or supporting their development.
