Senior Data Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join a global software technology company specialising in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes. You'll be working on innovative solutions for industries like banking, insurance, government, and healthcare.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain efficient, scalable data processing systems in production.

  • Work with tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Elasticsearch, deploying on private and public clouds (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).

  • Collaborate with solution architects and R&D teams to solve complex big data challenges.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Manage large datasets to address business problems in fraud detection, risk management and customer intelligence.

 

Requirements

  • More than 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or similar roles.

  • Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Scala (Scala knowledge is a plus, but we value flexibility and a willingness to learn).

  • Experience in developing and managing large-scale batch data processing systems.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker and Bash scripting.

  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to clients.

  • Experience with testing libraries such as ScalaTest or similar.

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or supporting their development.

  • Passion for growing within the company and taking on future leadership opportunities.
