Software Engineering Lead

Job description

A prominent international bank is growing its engineering department in the Philippines and is seeking Lead Software Engineers. This team will manage the Internal Development Platform utilised by the bank’s IT development teams across various business units. They are looking for individuals with expertise in Frontend, Backend, and Fullstack development. Senior Software Engineers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply for non-leadership positions.
 
Responsibilities

  • Head a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth and skill development.

  • Take ownership of system architecture and design decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability in all solutions.

  • Oversee the execution of complex software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align development with business goals.

  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and implement best practices to maintain high code quality. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in software development.

  • Work closely with regional teams consisting of product managers, designers, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Ensure that technical documentation is kept up-to-date and comprehensive, covering system design, implementation processes, and any technical decisions made.

 

Requirements

  • Background in Frontend development, Backend development or Fullstack development.

  • Strong experience with API development.

  • Experienced working in a DevOps and Agile environment.

  • Good understanding of automation test frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Appium, etc.).

  • Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
