Site Reliability Engineer Lead (SRE)

Job description

A renowned international bank is expanding their engineering division in the Philippines and is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Lead.  You will be part of the division responsible for overseeing the Internal Development Platform utilised by the bank’s IT development teams across various business units. You will be the subject matter expert in containers and orchestration, joining the Container Platforms team.
Senior Site Reliability Engineers with relevant experience are also invited to apply for non-leadership positions.

 

 Responsibilities
  • Help design, develop and maintain container hosting platforms

  • Assist internal teams in moving applications to container and microservices environments.

  • Provide system design consulting, software platform development, and capacity planning before service launch.

  • Own and deliver features during sprints, collaborating with peers through programming and code reviews.

  • Automate processes and make improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.

  • Guide customer support engineers in the region with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

  • Stay on top of security vulnerabilities and work to implement patches and fixes.

 

Requirements
  • A SME in containerisation and orchestration tools

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes in areas like cluster management, deployment, scaling, upgrades, security and monitoring

  • Good experience with developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

  • Experienced working in a Cloud environment (AWS or Azure) and using tools like EKS and AKS

  • Ability to re-architect and migrate applications to a container and microservices platform

  • Experience in Openshift (good to have)
