Mainframe Developer Senior/Lead

Job description

An esteemed global financial institution in the Philippines is on the lookout for skilled and seasoned Mainframe Developers at various levels (Mid, Senior, and Lead) to be part of an expanding project. This full-time position provides a chance to work on critical systems within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

 

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain robust applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM and IMS.

  • Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.

  • Develop and execute unit test cases, ensuring they align with the functional and technical requirements.

  • Support the entire software development lifecycle, including code reviews and testing (ST/SIT/UAT/UVT).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation and post-implementation support.

  • Execute batch processes for various testing cycles, ensuring timely results and effective issue resolution.

  • Provide end-to-end support for applications in a production environment, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Foster a working knowledge of using Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM and work effectively using tools like ADO or JIRA.

 

Requirements
  • Demonstrable expertise in COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and JCL, with hands-on experience in IMS or DB2 databases.

  • Experience working with Endevor, XPEDITOR, and DFSORT/ICETOOL.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as SCRUM, ADO, or JIRA.

  • Ability to develop and maintain critical business applications within a Trade Finance/Banking domain.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse teams across different geographic regions.

  • Experience with Web Services (JSON, XML) and MQ.

  • Knowledge of Micro Focus COBOL, Enterprise Developer and Enterprise Server.

  • Experience in Mainframe to Micro Focus migration projects, including transitioning legacy systems to modern platforms.

 

Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: PHP 2,000,000 - PHP 5,000,000 annually (negotiable), based on experience and role level (Mid, Senior, or Lead).
