Job description
An exceptional opportunity awaits at a leading global consulting firm, spearheading the data architecture practice for Southeast Asia. Candidates with prior consulting experience in transforming data and analytics capabilities for financial services clients will excel in this role. This position is also ideal for senior data architect currently working in-house at financial services companies, provided you have experience with multiple data platforms. Travel requirements for this role are approximately 70-80%. Please take this into consideration before applying.
Responsibilities
Head Data Architecture Strategy: Design and architect end-to-end data solutions, including data pipelines, storage systems and analytics platforms, ensuring you will meet scalability, security and performance requirements.
Client Engagement & Consultation: Engage directly with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into data architecture strategies and solutions. Provide expert guidance on data governance, data quality and best practices.
Data Integration & Migration: Oversee the integration of disparate data systems, including legacy platforms, cloud-native solutions and third-party data sources.
Cloud & Big Data Technologies: Design and implement data architectures leveraging modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
Collaboration & Leadership: Lead a team of data engineers, architects and other technical resources, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality delivery on time. Serve as a mentor to junior staff and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, data security policies and industry standards. Establish frameworks for effective data governance and stewardship.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest trends in data architecture, tools and technologies. Recommend new technologies or methodologies that can enhance efficiency and value for clients.
Project Oversight & Delivery: Manage the design, implementation, and delivery of complex data architecture projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
More than 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Strong expertise in designing and implementing large-scale data systems across diverse industries.
Digital technology experience cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies.
Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes and distributed data architectures.
Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Demonstrable track record delivering data architecture solutions in both on-premise and cloud environments.
Expertise in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) is a plus.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
