Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

Job description

As the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you will be a vital part of the executive team, leading the risk management strategy and protecting the bank's interests globally. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all business units, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong risk culture throughout the organisation. 

 

Responsibilities
  • Head the bank’s global risk management framework, covering credit, market, operational and compliance risks.

  • Develop and execute strategies to balance risk and reward, supporting sustainable business growth.

  • Develop working relationships with regulators and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements.

  • Chair the Risk Management Committee and advise the Board on critical risk matters.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders across private banking, wealth management and other divisions to integrate risk considerations into business decisions.

  • Guide a high-performing risk management team, fostering innovation and excellence.

 
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience CRO or in a senior risk leadership role within private banking, wealth management, or financial services.

  • In-depth understanding of global financial regulations and risk management frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills ability to navigate complex financial products and markets.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrable ability to build and maintain trust with regulators and internal stakeholders.

  • A visionary mindset, with the ability to anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
