Chief Risk Officer

​Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic and fast-developing banking environment? We are seeking a visionary Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join a rapidly growing bank in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned risk management professional to shape the future of risk strategy for our client.


We are working with one of the fastest growing domestic banks in Hanoi to replace their CRO. We are looking for someone with strong regional experience as their Chief Risk Officer to oversee all aspect of risk management and act as a business advisor to their growth and transformation journey.



Responsibilities

  • Oversee the risk management framework and internal controls.

  • Set up appropriate risk management strategy, including risk appetite, limits and evaluation framework to manage evaluate affiliate reinsurance transactions.

  • Act as independent second line of defense for Regulators, Board of Directors and other stakeholders.

  • Provide a risk perspective and effective challenge to the transactions and strategies.

  • Work closely with the business to ensure proper balance between growth, profitability and risk.

  • Conduct effective stress testing to evaluate resiliency of the company.

  • Work closely with the leadership team to manage the bank’s risk position.



Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in risk management with a regional / global wholesale bank.

  • Business acumen with a proven track record of making sound judgments backed by strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Demonstrated experience using risk models, aggregation tools and data investigation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).

  • Ability to anticipate and effectively manage change.

Package

This role is based in Hanoi with total package of around $450k USD plus insurance, annual leave and usual expatriate benefits.
